ACP recognizes National Immunization Awareness Month

Philadelphia, July 30, 2018 -- To emphasize the importance of getting immunized and to remind adults that vaccines are not just for children, the �������ý (ACP) recognizes August as National Immunization Awareness Month.

Washington, DC (July 27, 2018) — The �������ý (ACP) is encouraged by provisions included in the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) & Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) proposed rule that supports site-neutral payment that was released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on July 25.

Washington, DC — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed a rule that significantly amends regulations governing the Title X of the Public Health Service Act (Title X), the only federal program exclusively dedicated to providing low-income patients (including adolescents) with access to family planning and preventive health services and information. Federally funded Title X facilities provide access to health and cancer screenings, well woman exams, contraception and testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.

Washington, DC (July 13, 2018) — The �������ý (ACP) is encouraged by provisions included in the proposed rules for the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and the Quality Payment Program (QPP) for 2019, while recognizing several areas for improvement in the rules that were released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on July 12.

Washington, DC (July 11, 2018) — In a new policy issued today, the �������ý (ACP) stated that immigrant families who have been separated at the border should be reunited as expeditiously as possible. If genetic testing is considered appropriate, it should be done in the least intrusive manner, with safeguards and attention to medical ethics.

ACP believes that sexual violence in all professional fields, including the medical community, should not be tolerated.
