Thanks to all of our CRAB members who were able to attend the meeting/dinner on August 19th. Great company & great food – what could be better.
We were able to accomplish much and would like to share some of the information with you for your calendar as well as some topics suggested for future events & activities.Ìý We look forward to your responses especially regarding the CRAB co-chair nominations, the new Resident committee, and all of the other opportunities available this year!Ìý
CRAB Calendar Of Activities – 24/25

CRAB Co-Chair Nominations:
We are trying something new in selecting CRAB co-chairs this year. ÌýSince there were programs unable to attend the August meeting,Ìý we are sending out a request to all programs asking for those Chiefs who would be interested in being a CRAB co-chair to please provide the following:
- Name
- ProgramÌý
- A short (300 words or less) essay on why you would like to be a CRAB co-chair OR Ìýwhat you would like to accomplish in this role if you are selected
ÌýOur 3 CRAB advisors, Drs. Christmas, Chow & Deepak will review the nominations and select 4 Co-chairs from this group. ÌýWe ask that you submit your nomination by Thursday,ÌýSeptember 4, 2024Ìý to Maryellen at mew4work@aol.com.

Please also share with your residents that Dr. Zayd from MHIM has created a WhatsApp group that he is requesting all chief residents to sign up for. ÌýThis will allow chiefs to easily share ideas and information, and requests for assistance with each other.Ìý
NEW! Resident Committee: Ìý
The decision has been made to form a Resident committee that would be open to residents in their 2nd and 3rd years of training. ÌýA CRAB leader will be needed to facilitate the committee and begin the process of selecting members and planning programs. ÌýIf interested please contact Maryellen at mew4work@aol.com.
Project Suggestions:Ìý
Each program is being asked to develop a suggestion for a CRAB program that could be held during the upcoming year. ÌýPlease provide your suggestions no later than Friday, September 5, 2024. ÌýTwo will be selected to host this year from the suggestions made.
Journal Club (Open to all programs):Ìý
Dr. Farshid Fargahi from Anne Arundel Medical Center was present at the meeting. ÌýHe explained that last year the process of creating a Journal Club that all programs could participate in was begun. Those programs wishing to participate should contact Dr. Fargahi at the following: ffargahi@luminishealth.org. ÌýA ÌýZOOM platform would be used to host meetings allowing programs to participate easily.
