Chapter Awards Nominations

Recognize outstanding members and nominate them for the 2015 Chapter Laureate, Excellence in Teaching, Community Service/Volunteerism Award, and our newest award, the Early Career Physician Leadership Award.

Do you know a New Mexico ACP member deserving of recognition for his/her track record of distinction and service? The ACP New Mexico Chapter Awards Committee would like your help identifying members for the 2015 Laureate, Excellence in Teaching, Community Service/Volunteerism Award, and Early Career Physician Leadership Award.

Laureate Award

The Laureate Award is designed to honor those Fellows and Masters of the College who have demonstrated, by their example and conduct, an abiding commitment to excellence in medical care, education, research, and service to their community, their chapter, and ACP.

Eligibility

A Laureate Nominee is usually a senior physician who ...

  • is a Fellow or Master of the College.
  • has a long history of excellence and peer approval in the specialty of internal medicine.
  • has served the chapter and community with distinction or in some clearly definable manner.

Community Service and Volunteerism Award

The Community Service and Volunteerism Award was started in 2009 to recognize the work of members who are involved in volunteerism and community service activities. Volunteerism, like a commitment to continuing education, is an established tradition for internists.

Eligibility

Nominees must be Masters, Fellows, or Members of ACP and must have provided volunteer service post-training. Self-nominations are not permitted.

Early Career Physician Leadership Award

This is our first Early Career Physician Leadership Award. Recipients of the New Mexico ACP Award for Early Career Physicians must demonstrate outstanding contributions to the field of Internal Medicine through excellence in leadership, education, mentoring, scholarship, and/or volunteerism.

Eligibility

Recipients must be members of ACP, within 16 years of graduation from medical school, and exhibit commitment to professionalism in medicine.

Nominations may be submitted by peers, resident physicians, students, and/or colleagues who recognize the significance of the nominee's work. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Multiple nominators may support an individual's nomination.

The deadline to submit a nomination is August 1, 2015.
