As our merged ACP Prairie Provinces Chapter begins our journey, I wish to thank Dr. Catherine Moltzan, outgoing Governor of the ACP Manitoba/Saskatchewan chapter. Under her excellent leadership, the ACP Manitoba/Saskatchewan chapter achieved the Bronze Level Chapter Excellence Award for two consecutive years and a membership increase of 12% over the past five years. A sincere thank you from all of us for your contributions and leadership.
Welcome to all new and existing members of our newly minted ACP Prairie Provinces Chapter! I hope those of you who were at the 2024 ACP Internal Medicine annual Meeting came back refreshed and recharged.
A few highlights:
- Please join me in congratulating Dr. Peter Hamilton, who was honoured with the 2023-2024 ACP Inspirational Global Member Award for the Established Physician this year.

- Congratulations to Dr. Sadik Salman and Dr. Joel Nkosi for receiving their well-deserved FACP credentials at Convocation, a testament to their excellence in and dedication to the Internal Medicine profession.

- Congratulations to Dr. Rahim Kachra for his Laureate Award at Convocation. Dr. Kachra was recognized for his distinguished service and upholding the highest professional standards.
- An excellent performance by Drs. Nicole Brockman, Tri Dinh, and Shivani Tauh, who represented the Alberta Chapter at the 2024 Doctor's Dilemma competition. We are so proud of them – correctly answering questions that would have stumped the best of us. Well done!

- The newly formed ACP POCUS Education Council was recognized with the 2024 John Tooker Evergreen Award for their work on the "Alberta Chapter Point-of-Care Ultrasound Webinar Series". Congratulations to Drs. Brian Buchanan, Timothy Chan, Elaine Dumoulin, Ahmed Ibrahem, Ada Lam, and Leo Smyth for their excellent work!
